BLOG Chocolate cake and Getstoried vs Kindredhq Today we did the Kindred huddle! This is where everyone shares what they are working on and we see where we can help each other out. "Simples!" KindredHQ goes from strength to strength with every type of freelancer starting to join in and you do have to have a "Mac" to show up. Running out of time Emily and I (supported by Yiannis on tech) recorded our latest Sharing Economy podcast with Alex (KindredHQ founder) on co-working and how it plugs into the rapidly emerging sharing economy. BLOG A good macchiato always makes my day.... You would not believe how hard it is to find a good macchiato. The word macchiato loosely translates from Italian as "stain of milk" - if you go into Pret and ask for a macchiato they will give you a short latte, so you can pay £1.40 for a latte but you don't get a macchiato.
BLOG Make it happen..... It is very hard to make it happen. There is a huge gap between "loads of people interested" and "here is my money / time / commitment etc." This is why it is hard to make it happen. Really hard. The first 60% is easy, this is why you should crack some skulls there before you get to the last 40%. That 40% is where the real effort is, that is where you have to get people to put their money where their mouth is. Tribes - we need you to lead I am a big fan of Seth Godin, his books Tribes and Linch
BLOG Why I nearly killed myself at Hubspot London Ok I maybe wrong here. Maybe the whole day was not aimed at people like me. MAYBE it was aimed at people who have NEVER read a Hubspot e-book, blog or have only just discovered the internet. If I'd gone to this day two years ago I would have punched the organiser if I had met them in a bar later on in the day. When salesforce.com come to town they BLOW YOUR MIND. You leave inspired to do well just so you can use all of their products, even if you don't need them. I missed David Meerman Scott, b
BLOG #globalsharingday - Final Cut Pro - House of Commons with Marks and Spencer's Our HUGE day rounded off at the House of Commons with a deliciously informal speaker session. We all crammed into one room and were treated to insights from a rapid fire line up. This picture here shows Mike Barry being interviewed. Who is Mike Barry? He is the very active Head of Sustainability for Marks and Spencer's, and solid supporter of our quest at The People Who Share. Quite frankly in the world of gigantic corporations that take longer to turn than an oil tanker in a ocean storm M&S ar
BLOG Sharing is the new rock ‘n’ roll Sharing is the new rock ‘n’ roll. We now share our cars, our jobs and even our homes with others. Ahead of a world event to commemorate the practice, Metro asks how it became a phenomenon.‘Share your sweets with your sister.’ ‘Share your presents with your friends.’ ‘Share your chips with me.’ We spend so much of our childhoods being ordered by our elders to share the things we hold dear that it is no surprise we react by doing exactly the opposite. By the time we reach adulthood, for many of

BLOG Going to see Seth Suddenly it all seemed to fit into place. I'd been feeling very crap, lacking focus and felt overwhelmed all week, actually all month, maybe even all year. My head hurt, my body hurt and I just blurred out most days. I'd slipped into everything slightly being someone else's fault, which even if it is someone else's fault is a crap place to operate from. I wondered how long I'd been walking around with people going "do you think he realises?" The strain must show in my face, I am always p
