This question comes up again and again.
What should you do with a Trello card when you’ve finished working on it? You don’t want these cards to clutter up your Trello board but, at the same time, you don’t want to lose the information. Here’s how we deal with finished cards and build a tighter team in the process.
The very short answer is – we archive finished Trello cards. It gets them out of the way and means they don’t clutter the board. If you stop there, however, you’d be missing out on an excellent opportunity to build your team!
So here is the longer answer:
- When we finish working on a card, we move it do a ‘Done’ column and remove any people / due dates from the card.
- At the end of each week, usually on a Friday afternoon, we hold a team review session. This can be on Skype or in person.
- During the team review, we go through each completed card and briefly discuss, as a group, what went well / didn’t go well with the card. This is a brilliant opportunity to fine-tune your processes.
- When everybody has had their say, the card is archived.
Try it out on your own board and let us know how you get on.
