I’m Bernie, and I found coworking on Meetup.com in August 2008, the same year I started working online.
Since then, I’ve worked with thousands of people in coworking communities, events, and meetups in London and Europe to build connection, meaning and change.
“Learn the steps to launch, grow and scale a small, tight and highly engaged coworking community.”

About me
Coworking and shared workspace is the future of our local business ecosystem and community.
I’m uniquely positioned to show you exactly how to launch and grow a thriving local coworking community.
August 2008 was when I first saw the word “coworking” on Meetup.com, and even though I’d never seen it before, I knew what it was.
For years I’d been sitting around a table after networking breakfasts where people got out their laptops and got to work.
When they did this, the energy changed, people started asking questions and working together, and the collaboration and connection flowed.
Being around the table was way more fun than networking, but it would be another year before I found it.
Then in 2009, a mentor called me up and invited me to join the opening team of the Innovation Warehouse in London, to be the event guy.
In 2010 we opened that workspace and incubator, and we built the community from scratch.
Shortly after this, I joined Kindred, a paid freelancer meet-up.
Kindred members got to know every new London coworking space because we met at a different one every day.
Since 2010, I’ve helped open, run and close coworking spaces all over London.
In that time, my crew have organised over a thousand events, meet-ups, podcast recordings, workshops, masterminds and other antics in coworking spaces.
I’ve also been a paid member of a coworking space non-stop for over a decade.
Through my work, I’ve collaborated with 100’s of coworking space owners, operators, suppliers, and local authorities.
Since 2008 I’ve discovered and experienced first-hand the subtle nuances that make a big difference in engaging people to feel welcome in a workspace community and thrive or to feel left out and excluded.
