I was looking for a place to start this podcast series and as Matthew is my number one guy….
No. Really he is. Economy Of Hours is the first ‘time bank type set up’ that I have ever managed to understand let alone get involved with. I have had endless conversations with people about their projects and have always struggled to find an access point.
I don’t like having debt and having ‘time-bank-debt’ scares me even more. Matthew explains how it all works in this 25 minute podcast as well as the deeper philosophy how Economy of Hours connects people.
My own Echo journey has solved more than a few problems for me, the eight week mindfulness course I did last year run by Mia Chambers was worth every breath. Best of all has been running a crowd-funding workshop with Olivia from Grub Club, a podcasting workshop with Jon from techLondon and I have finally got a blogging workshop scheduled!
This workshop format enabled me to earn Echo’s to use in the community and also run workshops without all the pricing, marketing and online hustle. I don’t enjoy ‘selling workshops’ but I love teaching people and running workshops, it is a great way to connect with new people in a purposeful way.
This interview with Matthew is from last year and since then Echo have become a big support for our OuiShare community in London. They hosted the OuiShare London Summit in December we are looking forward on collaborating on more workshops in the future.
